Meet The board 

Mrs. Code has a passion of children.  She is the principal at Greenacres Middle School.  She serves on the C. Wright Pink Ribbon Project board as the communications liaison and Annual Elegant Spring Tea chairperson.  Buffy served as the 2023 Jazz Bruchella entertainment committee co-chair  and has lead numerous committees in the chapter.  She was the chapter secretary 2022-2023.  She is married to Terrance Code and is the mother of one daughter, Lexi Code.

Michelle Y. Holmes is a two-term board member who is very active in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. -Delta Lambda Omega Chapter.  She has served as the chapter Sargent-at-Arms as well as serving on the Founders' Day Committee, Scholarship, Shoe Bank, Membership, Jazz Brunch, Social Action and Senior Activities committees.  

Lisa Myles Jackson is the wife of Terry L. Jackson and the mother of two amazing children, Mya and Simeon.  She is also a member of Life United Church formerly, Word of Life Center, where she serves on the hospital care team, emergency medical response team, and the greeters’ ministry.

She currently serves as a clinical nurse educator teaching the Certified Nursing Assistant students as well as the Emergency Medical Responder students for Caddo Parish Public Schools.  Mrs. Jackson believes that education is the key to empowerment and truly loves influencing, encouraging, motivating, and impacting the young people that she encounters.  In addition, she is employed as a Home Health Nurse with Smart Health Care.

She is an active, life member and Silver Star with more than forty-three years, as a of member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Lambda Omega chapter where she currently serves as 1st Vice-President.  Other community affiliations include Shreveport Black Nurses Association; Louisiana State Nurses Association; Military Officers Association of America, and a life member of the African American Alumni Chapter of Northeast Louisiana University.

Benetta Perry became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Delta Lambda Omega Chapter in 2021.  She is the current chapter Treasurer.  Benetta is a Fraud Analyst with Automatic Payroll Systems, Inc., and is a published author on Amazon.

Janice Sneed has extensive experience in leadership.  She has served on the Mayor's Woman's Commission; SciPort Board; The African American Chamber of Commerce, as vice president; Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce; Vice-president of HOPE connections board; SUSLA Community Development Corporation; NLA Economic Partnership and Multi-Cultural Development Center to name a few.  Mrs. Sneed possesses a desire to impact change in the community.

Anita Spencer is a wife and mother who works as a Child Welfare Specialist-Investigator with the Department of Children and Family Services. Her Leadership includes DLO Executive Board Anti-Grammateus 2018-2020, DLO Graduate Advisor (elect) 2022-2024, Membership Committee, Sisterly Relations Committee Chairman, and the Rituals Committee.

Shereka Thrash-Stephens is an Attorney At Law who is engaged in private practice.  Shereka is a graduate of Southern University Law Center.  She was initiated as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., - Delta Lambda Omega Chapter in the Spring of 1999.  She is celebrating Silver Soror status, with 25 years of active service.  She is the owner of several businesses and her plan is to continue expanding those businesses and continuing her impact on the community.

Nicole Thomas lives in Shreveport, Louisiana. She currently serves as a  Staffing Specialist within the Human Resource Department at Barksdale Airforce Base. Previously, she worked as an Employee Relations Partner with Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana. With a love for shopping, traveling, and spending time with loved ones and friends Nicole fills her days with excitement. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management at Liberty University.
